Week 11 Reading Notes: More Jataka Tales pt. i
- the monkeys had a fine life living in the king's garden
- the only task they had was to help the gardener with the trees
- they had to water the young trees so that they would grow, but also not over saturate them with water
- the moneys were unsure how to accomplish this
- the king of the monkeys suggested pulling all the trees up and checking the root length
- shorter roots= younger trees = need to be watered
- in the end they killed all the trees
- stupid monkeys
- could write from own experience of just being bad with trees
- or write it from the gardener's perspective of coming back to all his hard work tarnished
